The Best Cyprus Marina Resort

Where is the best Marina resort in Cyprus, South or North?

Karpaz Gate Marina is based in Northern Cyprus which boasts stunning natural landscapes, including beautiful coastlines, mountains, and nature reserves. It offers outdoor enthusiasts opportunities for activities like hiking, diving, and exploring picturesque landscapes. North Cyprus is a natural paradise for those looking for a more peaceful retreat.

North Cyprus is known for its laid-back and relaxed lifestyle. The region has a pleasant climate, and a slower pace of life, which can be appealing to individuals seeking a more tranquil and stress-free environment.

Influenced by its geographical location and historical background, North Cyprus is a melting pot of cultures. It has a rich historical and cultural heritage influenced by various civilizations, including Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman. The region is home to ancient ruins, historic sites, and museums, providing ample opportunities for exploration and learning. The Turkish Cypriot culture is predominant, with its vibrant traditions, delicious cuisine, and warm hospitality.

Nicosia, also known as Lefkoşa in Turkish, is the capital city of Cyprus and is situated in the center of the island. It is a unique city as it is a split city, and therefore a vivid reminder of the complex political situation in Cyprus. Nicosia is divided into two parts: the southern part controlled by the Republic of Cyprus and the northern part controlled by North Cyprus, known as the TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus). The northern part of Nicosia, has a distinct character and atmosphere. It has a more relaxed and traditional feel, with narrow streets, historic buildings, and local markets. The Büyük Han, a 16th-century Ottoman caravanserai, is a notable cultural and architectural landmark in the northern part of the city.

Despite the division, efforts have been made to promote communication and cooperation between the two sides of Nicosia. Ledra Street, one of the main shopping streets in the city centre, has a crossing point that allows pedestrians to pass between the southern and northern parts.

Wherabouts is North Cyprus’ best Marina Resort located?

The Karpaz Peninsula, also known as the Karpasia Peninsula, is a scenic and relatively untouched region located in the northeastern part of North Cyprus. It is known for its natural beauty, stunning beaches, rich biodiversity, and traditional rural landscapes. The Karpaz Peninsula stretches from the northeastern coast of North Cyprus towards the east, forming a narrow finger-like shape.

The Karpaz Peninsula is renowned for its pristine and uncrowded beaches, characterized by golden sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters. Some of the popular beaches in the area include Golden Beach, Silver Beach, and Turtle Beach (also known as Alagadi Beach), which is a significant nesting site for endangered Loggerhead and Green turtles.

The Karpaz Peninsula is home to the Karpaz National Park, a protected area that covers a significant portion of the region. The park encompasses diverse habitats, including forests, wetlands, and coastal areas, providing a sanctuary for numerous plant and animal species. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails, birdwatching, and exploring the natural wonders of the park.

The Karpaz region has a rich historical and cultural heritage. Notable sites include the Apostolos Andreas Monastery, an important Christian pilgrimage site, and the ruins of ancient cities such as Karpasia and Aphendrika. These sites offer glimpses into the region’s past and provide opportunities for exploration and learning.

The Karpaz Peninsula is dotted with traditional Cypriot villages where visitors can experience the authentic rural lifestyle. These villages often have charming stone houses, friendly locals, and a relaxed atmosphere. It is an excellent opportunity to immerse oneself in the local culture and traditions.

The Karpaz region is known for its rich biodiversity, both on land and in the surrounding waters. The area is home to various plant species, including endemic orchids, and hosts a wide range of bird species, making it a paradise for birdwatchers. The region also supports diverse marine life, making it popular for diving and snorkeling.

The rural landscapes of the Karpaz Peninsula lend themselves to agrotourism, where visitors can engage in activities like olive picking, traditional farming, and enjoying locally produced goods, including olive oil, honey, and traditional Cypriot cuisine.

The Karpaz region offers a unique and tranquil experience for visitors, with its natural wonders, cultural heritage, and traditional way of life. It is a hidden gem of Cyprus, providing a contrasting experience to the more developed and touristy areas of the island.
