About Karpaz Gate Marina
The ground-breaking project to develop the first modern yacht marina in North Cyprus and open an internationally embargoed country to the yachting industry was first initiated in 2002. Owned by an international British-based investment group and backed by late British entrepreneur David Lewis, Karpaz Gate Marina opened in 2011 after the project management team successfully campaigned to lift army zone limitations covering Cyprus’ northern shores to enable non-military international vessels to cruise in the region for the first time since 1974.
An official Port of Entry to the country, Karpaz Gate Marina was specifically created to cater for the needs of superyachts and yachts, providing a full-service home port with investment and attention to attractive berthing packages, technical and leisure services, as well as food and beverage hospitality. An eco-friendly approach is prioritised within the infrastructure and operation to respect the natural beauty and assets of one of the last unspoilt areas of the Mediterranean. The marina’s high standards were soon rewarded with 5 Gold Anchor status in 2013 and regular recognition from berth-holders in The Yacht Harbour Association’s Marina of the Year Awards. In 2019, the next stage of expansion began with the construction of on-site hotel accommodation and spa facilities.
Karpaz Gate Marina’s mission continues to focus on leading the development of the unique North Cyprus region to create a widely recognized and attractive international yachting tourism destination, while supporting and investing in the local area and community of the TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) and the Karpaz region.
